How to Live Holy Each Day – A simple place to start….

It may seem overwhelming to try to break down just how to live holy each day–especially when you see the Bible in its entirety. There are so many books, chapters, and verses to consider. Where do you start?

How to live holy each day. A simple place to start....

Holy living is a distinct theme running from Genesis through Revelation with snippets all throughout guiding us and teaching us how to live holy each day. But there is an easy place to start.

Start with considering who is on the other side. If your view of God is not the God of the Bible, you will not be engaging in holy living. So we need to start there. Begin by ensuring that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit in your mind match what the Bible says. If there is a difference, then you need to change your thinking or accept that you do not believe the Bible as truth. The choice is yours.

To encourage your belief based on the Bible, it is imperative to understand the supremacy and sovereignty of who God is. God is holy. He is who we should wish to emulate. Our lives on earth are to be inundated with trying to be like Him.

Unfortunately if we do not place God at the head of our lives, there are dire consequences. To start or further this, it is beneficial to guide your heart to first praise God for who He is and what He has done. Without His grace, we have no hope.

So when you ask how to live holy each day, start with praise. I’ll leave you with the lyrics to a simple but profound song.

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee,
who wert and art and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
though the eye made blind by sin thy glory may not see,
only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
perfect in power, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea;
holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty,
God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

  1. Thank you so much for this post! Living holy everyday can be quite difficult, but when we remember God’s grace and love, it becomes a little easier. I love that song!

  2. I love both sides of this: that God is holy, so we learn what holiness is by beholding Him, and we need His grace. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says we’re changed into His likeness by beholding Him–the more our eyes are fixed on Him, the more He’ll change us to be more like Himself.
