One should not celebrate their birthday alone. Or be selfish with their gifts… so a giveaway it is!
Birthdays are a time for celebrating; to celebrate that a person was born and in your life is a special thing.
As the years pass on, I enjoy my birthdays more (as of now at least) because it is a reminder to slow down and reflect on the blessings that have so generously been offered.
We have been through some encouraging seasons and some dark seasons but through it all, the days pass on and we keep journeying through life; there are new mercies every morning and a birthday offers a prime opportunity to remember those mercies.
Anchored Abode started as a dream many mornings ago as I considered our life situations and what I could do to contribute while also overseeing the bookkeeping for our business and homeschooling our kids. It is a passion of mine to write and I’m so grateful that it is my job.
In addition to writing a blog, I run a small, online boutique store with fashionable, modest clothes at really reasonable prices; you’ll find when you shop at Anchored Abode there are unique aspects that you won’t find elsewhere. I have always enjoyed putting together outfits online (even though I, myself, dress quite plain), or pairing great shoes and/or jewelry with simple outfits for statement pieces; and now I can offer my finds to you!
- We noticed a lack of plus size options in boutiques so we offer a specific section for larger sizes–and we try out hardest to keep the price point the same as no one should be fiscally ‘punished’ for their size. All sizes are celebrated here, so please let me know if I can find something for you!
- As one who suffered from the ill effects of Diastasis Recti/Diastasis Rectus, I am well-versed in the troubles that come when trying to dress a mummy tummy. It can be challenging to not highlight or showcase with today’s styles, so I have a line in my store that are more gentle options for DR victims. The splitting of your muscles is unfortunate, so we hope to mend the relationship divide between you and your apparel as much as possible with DR friendly options!
- We have some AMAZING gifts… either for yourself or someone else. I try to find the most unique items (ie., a cell phone case that you can stick anywhere). I try to cover all budget options so there will be a gift for everyone at every price point. (Be on the lookout for kids toys coming soon–can you say Lego, but not Lego, but compatible with Lego for a budgeter’s price point (same pieces and set up just a different supplier)? I added one so you could see the quality. If there is a specific Lego set you are looking for, I’d love to try find a matching one for you!)
- I also love tracking down specific requests for people to add to my store so feel free to reach out if you are looking for something specific because chances are if I can find it, I can also offer it at a great price point that you won’t want to pass up.
