2020: Do not Forget God’s Faithfulness in our Lives

I know many who are ready to kiss 2019 goodbye and never look back; let’s enter 2020 never forgetting God’s faithfulness in our lives.

Do not forget God's faithfulness in our lives.

The weeks before Thanksgiving, we were told my breathing problem was basically unsolvable and that I had a lesion on my chest xray the size of a grown man’s fist (completely unrelated).

All that, along with business and financial concerns of now working toward shutting one company down and opening a completely different one. Many hours were spent in prayer. Praying that God use whatever happens with my health for His glory, praying that we would honor God with our business decisions, and that His name would not be marred in the process. There were a lot of stressors that brought me literally to my knees crying in prayer.

I needed comfort. I needed God. It was then that He reminded me through the Word and hymns that He is faithful. He always has been. He always will be. It was such a calming awareness when I took that to heart. Going back through my life, I reflected on God’s role in my life: His provision, comfort, safety, love, guidance, leading, steadfastness…. God’s faithfulness in our lives ought never to be forgotten.

It was a moment that shifted my perspective and I hope will shift yours if you’re also in a similar place.

On the cusp of New Year’s Eve, we now get to look upward to the possibilities that 2020 hold. As we do so, let’s never forget God’s faithfulness in our lives.

He is faithful!

Let that phrase sink into your mindset as we enter and travel through this next year; not as a “name it, claim it” type of scenario, but a true understanding of the steadfastness of God.

(By the way, my lesion is a rare diaphragmatic hernia and I’m fine, praise be to the Lord!)

  1. What scary results from your chest xray! So glad it’s not cancer.

So many times in the Bible, God instructs people to look back at how He’s led them so far. As we look to His Word, His acts, and His character, we have such encouragement that He will faithfully lead and provide for us in the future.
